Space Witch

I made this picture for the Codex Obscurus artbook.

I'm not sure what to call this work, is it an illustration, a doll, an edited photo, all of the above?
Anyway, the figure is real, I built her around 12" tall, using super sculpey, wire armature, fabrics, various jewellery bits and bobs, EVA foam... Patterns on her clothes are hand painted, but some were edited in post.
Her environment is somewhat real - I did a shoot outside, I arranged the small stones and the supposed rocks, but the sky and the pattern on the ground are edited in, also all the swirls and markings on the rocks themselves.
The floaty creatures are real, I made them out of translucent material, but their glow is added in post, also the smaller bubbles around them.
And special thanks to Dina and Budo, who pushed me to do this, cheered me on, and helped and guided me with making the creative decisions. I knew I couldn't do it on my own on the required deadline, so I asked for help and they came through for me!
